Remove Conditions on Your Green Card
If you received a conditional green card through marriage, you must file Form I-751 to remove the conditions and receive your permanent 10-year green card.
Important: The 90-Day Filing Window
You must file Form I-751 during the 90-day window before your conditional green card expires. Filing too early will result in rejection. Filing late can result in loss of status.
Check the expiration date on your green card and mark your calendar to file 90 days before that date.

You and your spouse file together, providing evidence that your marriage is genuine and ongoing.
Waiver (Special Circumstances)
File alone if your spouse is unavailable due to:
- • Divorce or annulment
- • Death of spouse
- • Abuse or extreme cruelty
- • Extreme hardship if removed
